Are you ready for the Modern Slavery Act?
The Modern Slavery Act is now in force.
Directors of companies turning over more than £36 million should be aware that they are required to provide a slavery and human trafficking statement at the end of every financial year. In this statement they need to set out the steps they have taken to ensure that no slavery or human trafficking has taken place within their supply chains or any part of their businesses. If they do not yet have a system in place they are required to provide a statement to that effect.
This statement will need to be signed off by Executive Boards and prominent links to the statement must be available on the home pages of company websites.
More than ever, UK companies sourcing from suppliers and factories who themselves may use their own suppliers and factories need to be able to monitor their whole supply chain. They need to keep up to date with factory audits to show that they are doing everything possible to reduce the risk of having slavery or human trafficking within their businesses.
MCL’s Supplier Collaborator is a software solution to the challenge, used for managing audits, performance assessments and action plans, mapping supply chains and more.
