Online shopping at Christmas

With so many websites grinding to a halt recently during the run-up to Christmas it makes you wonder why lessons haven’t been learned. The concept of on-line shopping isn’t new and nor is peaks and troughs of demand at predicable times. The problems were mostly in the sites’ shopping cart and checkout systems, not the catalog functions, so with any luck (and not a little planning and investment) resilience will be built for Christmas 2015.
